Reflection
This brochure presents the “Five Themes of Geography” essential for geographers to identify a place. We were to select a certain province in Thailand, apply the five themes, and make it into a brochure. What I like best about this work is that I got to renew my knowledge about Phuket, the province my partner and I chose. Although making a brochure is no easy task, I really enjoyed reading the information and scanning through pictures of Phuket.
The most significant thing I learned in this activity is how to present a given topic in the form of a brochure. My partner and I initially struggled on the layout of the brochure, as we must divide the sections to present all five themes. However, things gradually fell in place and we were able to come up with a beautiful brochure that provides a whole lot of knowledge for others.
One thing that was really disappointing to me about this work was the amount of time I used to accomplish it. I spent more hours than I could ever imagine finishing just two pages of information, and I thought it was too much. If I were to do this work again, I would definitely work on my time management and make use of whatever free time I had previously to come up with productive ideas instead of relaxing.
Another thing that I wish I could do better was my editing skills. Because I did not know how to use Photoshop, I skipped a couple of ideas that I initially wanted to include in my brochure. Therefore, I would like to learn more of how to use more useful programs other than Microsoft Publisher. In this way, my next brochure will look even more professional and appealing.
